Boost PressureSensor:

Boost Pressure Sensor is used to measure the pressure of the Intake Air @ Intake Manifold (

After Turbo

). The piezo-

resistive pressure Sensor element and a suitable Circuitry for signalamplification are integrated on a silicon chip.

Themeasured pressure operates from above to the active side of the silicon diaphragm.

Transfer Function of Pressure Sensor:

Uout= (c1*pabs+c0).US

Where, Uout = signal output voltage in V

US = supply voltage in V

pabs = absolute pressure in kPa

c0 = -0.1/105

c1 = 0.85/105 kPa-1

Characteristics of Pressure Sensor with Supply Voltage of 5 Volts

Stand Alone Diagnosis of Sensor:

1. Give 5V Power Supply to the Sensor Supply pin and Ground to the Sensor Ground Pin

2. Keep the Sensor in a pressurized environment of 50 bar.

3. Measure the Voltage between the Sensor pressure Signal Pin and Ground, it should be 2.1 Volts approx.

Diagnosis:

Use multimeter to check for signal voltage at pin1 and pin3.

Supply voltage :- 5V DC.

Signal Voltage :

0.4 V @ 10 kpa (absolute)

4.65 V @ 115 kpa (absolute)
