P0268-12: Injector 3 Short to Battery– Circuit Short to Battery
Overview:

P0268-12
Customer Symptom
Engine might Stall, Vehicle Acceleration poor, Idle not stable,
Poor start ability, Lambda control deactivated.
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
1. Vehicle acceleration is poor.
2. Idle is not stable.
3. Lambda control is not active.
4. Poor start ability.
Lamp Status (If Any)
MIL ON after I drive cycle.
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged if the ignition state is ON and Injector of
cylinder 3 control pin is Short to Battery.
Normal Operating Condition
Proper Wiring Harness connections between Injector of
cylinder 3 and EMS ecu.
Probable Trouble Area
Wiring Harness Connections
Healing Condition
Ignition ON and 3 driving Cycles
Fault permanent deletion
1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool
2. Stack Over Flow.
3. 40 warm up cycles.
4. ECU Flashing.
5. ECU Power-Fail
Component Details:
Injectors are normally closed valve. Injector Opens when its electromagnetic coil is energized by the EMS ecu.
Preliminary Checks:
1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between injector and EMS ecu.
2) Check for back out of pins at both Injector connector and ECU connector.
3) Check for damage of pins at both injector connector and ECU connector.
4) Check the continuity from injector connector pins to the ECU pins.
