ECU replacement procedure PREQUISITE: 1) Gateway (Instrument Cluster) shall be functional. 2) Vehicle configuration data shall be available on the server. 3) New ESCL ECU shall be available for replacement. NOTE: If the ESCL ECU is used for replacement from another vehicle 1) ESCL between same VCs/trim levels shall be replaced. 2) In case ESCL need to be exchanged between different VCs/trim levels, then follow the below given replacement procedure. PROCEDURE: 1) Disconnect the battery. 2) Locate the ESCL ECU. (Refer Figure 1 for location of the ESCL). 3) Remove ESCL ECU connector (Refer Figure 2 for ESCL connector). 4) Remove the old ESCL ECU from bracket. 5) Fix the new ESCL ECU on bracket. 6) Connect ESCL ECU connector into their respective sockets. 7) Ensure that ESCL connector is fitted tightly and properly. 8) Connect the battery. 9) Connect the diagnostic tool to OBD connector. 10) Turn ON the IGN by pressing the start - stop switch. 11) Read the following ECU Part numbers and compare with the server. a) Vehicle Manufacturer Spare Part Number ($22 F1 87). b) ECU Application Software Number ($22 72 41). 12) Enter into “Extended” Diagnostic session and unlock security to ESCL ECU. (This is an essential step, without unlocking the security access further steps will not be executed).
