Pre-checks/tasks to be done before replacing the Smart Key or its Battery 1) Press any button on Smart Key to check the battery status. 2) If single time LED blinks on pressing any button on Smart Key, then the battery is okay. 3) Pair the Smart Key with PEPS. 4) Press any button on UID and check the vehicle functionality. 5) If Step-4 is okay, then return vehicle to customer. 6) If Step-4 is NOT okay i.e. if the vehicle functionality doesn’t work even after pairing, then replace the Smart Key and pair the new smart key with PEPS (Refer Smart Key replacement procedure – Section 2.2.2) 7) If Step-2 is NOT okay i.e. On pressing any button on Smart Key, if LED doesn’t blink or Number of LED blinks 5 times continuously which indicates low battery, then try to start the vehicle by placing the Smart Key near to antenna console area within 7 cm. (with this, the Smart Key shall get energize without Smart Key battery or in battery drain condition) 8) If vehicle starts, then replace the Smart Key battery (Refer the Smart Key battery replacement procedure – Section 2.2.1) 9) If Step-8 is NOT okay, then replace the Smart Key and return vehicle to customer (Refer Smart Key replacement procedure – Section 2.2.2) NOTE: Before returning the vehicle to customer, make sure to provide some command through Smart Key as to check the vehicle functionality to confirm on the successful pairing between Smart Key and PEPS.
