P3028 - 13: - Cabin cooling Evaporator solenoid valve activation line - circuit open Overview: ISO Code P3028 - 13 Customer Symptom Cabin Cooling does not take place even if AC is ON leading to passenger discomfort. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Cabin cooling does not occur even if AC is ON. Lamp Status (If Any) Service Lamp is ON Fault Detection Condition Open circuit of Cabin cooling evaporator solenoid valve activation line from VCU to valve. Normal Operating Condition Solenoid valve will open and close depending on the input received from the VCU Probable Trouble Area LV wiring harness Solenoid valve LV connection Powertrain VCU connector Healing Condition If DTC trigger condition is healed, DTC is present only in memory. Component Details: Cabin cooling Evaporator solenoid valve receives electrical input from VCU and for opening and closing of solenoid valve. Preliminary Checks: Loose connection of LV wiring harness between VCU and actuator Damage to LV wiring harness connections between VCU and actuator Trouble Shooting: - 1. Remove the LV battery connections. 2. Check for LV continuity between VCU pin and actuator. 3. Check for the loose or damaged circuit between VCU pin and actuator. 4. Check for back out of pins at solenoid valve connector. 5. Check for back out of pins at VCU connectors Step No. Description Check point If Yes If No 1. Remove the LV connector of Solenoid Check if the continuity exists between Solenoid connector’s input pin 1 and 2 (supply and LSD pin on component side) Go to step 2 Problem is in the Solenoid.
