Powertrain VCU Replacement Procedure 2.2 VCU Replacement Process 1. Disconnect the battery. 2. Locate the Powertrain VCU. (Refer Figure-1 and Figure-2 for location of the VCU in Kanger EV.) 3. Remove all the Powertrain VCU connectors. 4. Remove the old Powertrain VCU from bracket. (Refer Figure 3 and Figure 4 for location details) 5. Fix the new Powertrain VCU on bracket. (Refer Figure 5 and Figure 6 for mounting details) 6. Connect all the Powertrain VCU connectors into their respective sockets. 7. Ensure that all connectors are fitted tightly and the lock is properly fit. 8. Connect the battery. 9. Connect the flashing tool to OBD connector. 10. Flash the VCU with the latest version of software. Turn IGN off and wait for 1 sec. 11. Connect the diagnostic tool to OBD connector. 12. Turn the IGN ON. 13. Read the DTCs and clear all the DTCs from Powertrain VCU with the help of diagnostic tool. 14. Unlock security to Powertrain VCU. Please follow the procedure available in service tool to unlock the security access. Caution – This is an essential step without unlocking the security access further steps will not be executed. 15. Perform the following diagnostics activities a. Read HW, SW part numbers and it’s version numbers of Powertrain VCU and compare against server i. Vehicle Manufacturer Spare Part Number (F187) ii. ECU Application Software Number (7241) iii.
