This voltage level is not equivalent to any of the button pressed condition. Normal Operating Condition(s) Cruise control function working normal with proper voltage detection for each cruise switch button inputs available on switch panel. No DTCs are available in the vehicle. Probable Trouble Area(s) Cruise control switches, Wiring harness &EMS ECU Healing Condition(s) Rectify the DTCs, Clear the DTCs using diagnostic tool, Ignition ON/OFF Component Details: Cruise control allows the vehicle to be driven at a constant speed. It controls the vehicle speed to the speed selected by the driver without him/her needing to press the accelerator pedal. The injected fuel quantity is either increased or decreased untilthe desired (set)speed is reached. Thedriver can set the required speed by pressingcruise controlbuttons on the steering wheel. If the driver presses the clutch or brake pedal while cruise control is active, cruise control is terminated. The cruise control switches on the steering control provide the user interface to request to EMS ECU for activation of the cruise control. Preliminary Checks: 1. Verify the customer concern on the vehicle 2. Save the failure record (DTCs, Freeze frame data etc.) using the diagnostic tool 3. Look for any loose or corroded connections, damaged pins, terminal back out, mouth open, broken connectors, blown fuses, faulty relays, unusual noises, vibrations, smells etc. in the probable trouble area(s) 4. Check the vehicle service history if there is any work done in the past related to the customer concern 5. Follow the steps as per the trouble shooting procedure Trouble Shooting: Step Checks If Yes If No 1 Check if there Cruise Master ON/ OFF switch on steering wheel is mechanically stuck or damaged? Replace Cruise Switch on steering wheel Go to Step 2 2 Check if the wiring harness connector is properly connected to the cruise switch & no damage or pin back out? Go to Step 3 Do the necessary repair 3 Check if there is any oxidation, rust, mud, dirt, foreign particle accumulation on the connector? Do the necessary repair Go to Step 4
