P0745-98 Pressure control solenoid 1 (EDS 1): over temperature Overview: ISO Code P0745-98 Customer Symptom • Transmission fault lamp ON • Clutch 2 Deactivated, only limited gears available Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Transmission Fault Lamp ON Lamp Status (If Any) • Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x2 Fault Detection Condition internal TCU error (FFT 100ms) Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect over temperature fault. Probable Trouble Area 1. Transmission wiring loom for any damage. 2. TCU Damaged. 3. EDS 1 clutch 2 actuator Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart and driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 1000 ms Component Details: Clutch actuator 1 & 2 mounted in hydraulic control unit and makes internal electrical contact with the TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Electro valve and TCU. 2) Loose/ Damaged mechanical fitments of TCU (TCU to valve body mounting). 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the transmission-wiring loom for any damage. Is there any rust/oxidation/pin back out observed on TCU PIN 22 & 24 in Transmission side 28 pole connector? If damaged, replace the wiring loom. Go to step 2 2. If the problem persists, Replace the TCU & flash the adaption data from the previous TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back Go to step 3 3 If problem persists, place back original TCU; replace the hydraulic unit & transmission oil. Perform all necessary transmission adaptions. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back • Resistance Check Solenoids , Pressure sensors mounted on HCU should be checked for resistance if there is DTC triggered. Below table reflects the signals for clutch 2 solenoid and range of acceptable resistance.
