P1705-27 Drum sensor defect: high gradient of angle sensor Overview: ISO Code P1705-27 Customer Symptom • Transmission fault lamp ON • Warning message 'get vehicle checked 'Mileage based reaction after 100 km Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Transmission fault lamp ON • Warning message 'get vehicle checked 'Mileage based reaction after 100 km Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON Service indication 0x2 Fault Detection Condition drum sensor signal gradient too high (FFT = 50ms) Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect any fault related to angle sensor Probable Trouble Area 1. Transmission wiring loom (angle sensor). 2. Angle sensor. 3. TCU. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart and driving if the detection is FALSE for more than 500 ms Component Details: The BLDC motor is driving the shift “Drum” through a set of gears. By rotating the drum, the shift forks are synchronizing and engaging specific gearsets. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between angle sensor and TCU. 2) Loose/ Damaged mechanical fitments of TCU (TCU to valve body mounting). 3) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check the transmission wiring loom (angle sensor). If damaged, replace the transmission wiring harness. Is there any rust/oxidation/pin back out observed on TCU PIN 9 (Angle sensor output) in transmission side TCU 28 pole connector? Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2. If the issue persists, replace the angle sensor. Perform all the necessary transmission adaptions. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 3 3. Replace the TCU if the problem persists & flash the adaption data from the previous TCU. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. • Resistance Check ➢ Disconnect Transmission side 28 pole connector (X-201) and check below resistance at (X-201) connector terminal
