P3110-01 Drum position plausibility error between BLDC motor and drum angle sensor Overview: ISO Code P3110-01 Customer Symptom • Critical malfunction. Power train is opened. Power loss immediately triggered- Gearshift is disabled • Transmission Fault Lamp ON • Creeping function is disabled Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • Critical malfunction. Power train is opened. Power loss immediately triggered- Gearshift is disabled • Transmission Fault Lamp ON • Creeping function is disabled Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission fault lamp ON (Service indication 0x1) Fault Detection Condition BLDC/drum motor internal angle sensor and external drum angle sensor deviate more than 7° foe > 500ms Normal Operating Condition TCU does not detect any fault. Probable Trouble Area 1. drum angle sensor. 2. BLDC motor. 3. Transmission. Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart Component Details: The BLDC motor is driving the shift “Drum” through a set of gears. By rotating the drum, the shift forks are synchronizing and engaging specific gear sets. BLDC controller supply voltage is regulated at 12V TCU. Connections are internal to TCU. Preliminary Checks: 1) Check for any visible damage BLDC controller to TCU. 2) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check if drum angle sensor is fastened correcty, if not, check on sensor for damage, replace if necessary, tighten attachment bolts, Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 2 2 If DTC persists, Check if BLDC motor is fastened correctly. If not, tighten attachment bolts, Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 3 3 If DTC persists, Check freeze frame data (drum angle sensor + BLDC angle sensor) Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 4 4 If DTC persists, Clear DTC + go to manual mode and go trough all gears to check for unusual noise during drum rotation + check if the DTC does not come back. Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back. Go to step 5
