Check Electrical continuity between ECU and AMF sensor connector as per circuit schematics; Follow Electrical
continuity check procedure. Replace/ Rectify Harness if required
Trouble Shooting:
Step Checks
IF YES
IF NO
1
Is there any rust/oxidization observed on Sensor Terminals Clean the Rust or
repair or replace
Go to Step 2
2.
Is there wiring harness electrical continuity between ECU
pins 75, 55, 20, 36 & HFM Sensor connector pins 4, 5, 3,1
Go to Step 3
Establish continuity
by rectifying
harness
connections as per
the circuit
schematic
3
Are there any pins damaged at Sensor/EMS ECU Connector
Replace the
connector or wiring
harness
Go to step 4
4
Are there any pins backed out from the Sensor/EMS ECU
Connector
Rectify/Replace
Connectors
Go to Step 5
5
Is Sensor Supply pin 2, Short circuited to GND/Battery.
Repair the harness
as per the schematic Go to Step 6
6
Is Sensor Signal Pin 36, Short circuited to Battery supply.
Repair the harness
as per the schematic Go to Step 7
7
Is sensor physically Damaged
Replace Sensor
Go to Step 8
8
Fault Still Persists?
Replace Sensor and
then Fault still
persists then Call
Hot Line
Follow the steps
again for
reconfirmation
DTC’s confirmation (checks before handing over vehicle to customer):
After rectification ensure the following before handing over to customer.
x
Check the sensor resistance between the sensor pins 36 and 20 at an ambient temperature of 30 degrees. It
should be ~ 1660 ohms.
a. Read the Inlet air temperature from the diagnostic tool. It should show a value ~ 30 degree
