Vehicle /engine speed will be restricted
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
1. Vehicle runs with calibratable speed limitation.
Lamp Status (If Any)
MIL ON after 1drive cycle
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged if the throttle position Sensor signal pin 203 is short
Circuited to ground or Open
Normal Operating Condition
Throttle actuator functions as per design
Probable Trouble Area
Throttle Actuator and position Sensor ,wiring harness connections, EMS
ECU
Healing Condition
After 3 drive cycles
Fault permanent deletion
1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool
2. Stack Over Flow.
3. 40 warm up cycles.
4. ECU Flashing.
5. ECU Power-Fail
Component Details:
A DC motor drive is used to move the throttle valve over the complete movement range. The DC motor is directly
controlled by the ECU of the Gasoline engine. Throttle Valve H-bridge driver of EMS ECU provides bidirectional
control with active recirculation and over current detection.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check whether dust/mud/any particle is blocking throttle valve.
2. Check whether the throttle valve is stuck closed
3. Check for any throttle body related faults and rectify those faults by following their rectification procedure.
Trouble Shooting:-
Step Checks
IF YES
IF NO
1.
Is there any rust/oxidization observed on Sensor Terminals Clean the Rust or
repair or replace
Go to Step 2
2.
Is there wiring harness electrical continuity between
ECUpins 223,203, 220 &Throttle Position Sensor connector
pins 3,6,5.
Go to Step 3
Establish continuity
by rectifying
harness
connections as per
the Circuit
schematic
