ECU Replacement Procedure

Clear DTC’s and check for DTC’s.

Check the Warning Lamp in Instrument Cluster. (

After prove out SRS warning lamp

should be off in Instrument Cluster, if no faults are qualified in SRS ECU

)

Read ECU data after successful writing and compare it with PLM server data for the

respective VC:

1.

VIN (Vehicle Identification) number ($22 F1 90)

2.

ECU installation date ($22 F1 9D)

3.

ECU assembly number ($22 72 34)

4.

ECU parameterization number ($22 72 44)

5.

System Configuration ($22 40 10)

6.

CAL parameter number ($22 40 11) (

Unique identification number of

Calibration

). Also compare the CAL parameter ID (last 3 bytes of the response)

with the server data.

7.

ECU Customer mode ($22 40 13)

Steps for SRS (Airbag) ECU cannibalizing (try out) during Service

:

Please refer Annexure 1 of SRS ECU Serviceability document version 2 (Serviceability_SRS_ECU_v

2.doc).

Cannibalization meaning: - to remove a part from a vehicle to repair or make a similar unit.

1.

Connect the Service tool to vehicle OBD connector.

2.

Turn ON Ignition, Clear the DTC’s and Check for DTC’s in both the Airbag ECU’s.

3.

Read the ECU Assembly number ($22 72 34) using service tool and compare it with Look up

table/PLM server (or with old ECU) as per defined VC. It should match with the existing ECU

data.
