6.2.

If Both E-Keys are lost

Applicability: when both original E keys are lost & to be prepared new

Dealer,

Gets Key-Tag no. from customer

Attends the vehicle (where ever it is)

Notes down Information on Immobilizer label (Serial no., H/w & s/w version).

Send the lockset number engraved on lockset to supplier

SPD orders E-keys (2 nos.)

Pre-requisites :

Original Immobilizer with new E-keys (2nos.), reconfirm part received is same as

sent back.

Diagnostic tester for immobilizer

Checking of New E-key:

Insert New

E-key

in the SCL (

Steering Column Lock

) and turn on to IGN-ON

position.

The Status lamp should be blinking at ignition OFF

Operation Details with Diagnostics Tester:

i.

Connect Diagnostic Tester to the diagnostics connector.

ii.

Turn E-key to IGN-ON position.

iii.

Diagnostics tester:

1.

Issue “Start Communication” command

2.

Clear Immobilizer DTC.

3.

Start -

“Erase Key” command

iv.

After immobilizer receives “Erase E-Key” command from the diagnostic tester, all other

E-keys (which are lost) are removed from ICU’s memory, so other E-keys become

redundant.

v.

Then give “Additional E-Key Learning” routine. The immobilizer status lamp starts

blinking stating that immobilizer has learnt the E-key in the SCl and ready to learn

another E-Key.

vi.

Remove the E-key from the SCL and insert the new E-Key into the SCL and trun the IGN

ON within 50 seconds.

vii.

When the ICU is learning the key, the Status lamp turns

ON

. Once learning of that key

is successful, the Status lamp starts

blinking

indicating that ICU is ready to learn

another E key.

viii.

To learn more keys, go to step 6.

ix.

To stop the learning process, do any one of the following

Leave the learned key in the SCL for more than 50 seconds – after which Immo

Status lamp will be continuously ON, indicating learning operation is complete.

Remove the key from the Ignition lock and wait for more than 50 seconds - After 50

seconds the Immo Status lamp will be continuously ON, indicating learning

operation is complete.
