Customer Symptom
MIL will be ON
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Emission will get affected It will not affect drive ability.
Lamp Status (If Any)
MIL ON after 1 drive cycle
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged when (VVT in)Camshaft Position
Actuator Circuit - Circuit Short to Ground
Normal Operating Condition
Healthy Wiring Harness connections between VVT IN and
EMS ECU
Probable Trouble Area
Wiring Harness Connections, Sensor
Healing Condition
After 3 drive cycles
Fault permanent deletion
1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool
2. Stack Over Flow.
3. 40 warm up cycles.
4. ECU Flashing.
5. ECU power fail
Component Details:
The variable camshaft timing oil control solenoid is attached to camshaft and is hydraulically operated in order to
change the angle of the camshaft relative to crankshaft position. The variable camshaft timing oil control solenoid is
controlled by the control module. The control module sends a pulse width modulated 12 volt signal to a variable
camshaft timing oil control solenoid. The solenoid controls the amount of engine oil flow
