U0103-83 CAN communication with GSM failed - CRC Failure Over view : ISO Code U0103-83 Customer Symptom • Critical malfunction • Powertrain is opened • Power loss triggered when standing still Fault Effects (On Vehicle) • D,R,N,P shift will not happen due no communication between TCU and GSM • Transmission Fault Lamp ON Lamp Status (If Any) Transmission Fault Lamp ON (Service indication 0x1) Fault Detection Condition CAN communication failure (CRC) with the EMS node (on the receiving side, i.e. TCU = receiver) for > 1000ms Normal Operating Condition All gear shift will be possible Probable Trouble Area 1.Monostable shifter CAN H and CAN L pin 2.Wiring connection between CAN H to CAN L pin of Shifter and TCU Healing Condition The reaction is cleared at SW restart if the detection is FALSE for more than 1000 ms Preliminary checks: 1. Check for wiring lose connection between TCU and Shifter 2. Check for Pin back out and TCU CAN H and CAN L pin at MSS and TCU end Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Check for CAN continuity wiring pin continuity between TCU and MSS Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back Go to step 2 2 Check if latest HW and SW is updated for MSS and TCU Clear the DTC and check if the DTC does not come back Go to step3 DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, clear all DTC’s and ensure the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. • Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes. • Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
