P3005-13: Starter Relay Feedback Circuit – Circuit Open

Customer Symptom
Vehicle start not possible.
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Crank is inhibited for 10 sec, Vehicle will not Start
Lamp Status (If Any)
CE Lamp ON after 3 drive cycles
Fault Detection Condition
Ignition ON and Starter relay feedback pin of EMS ecu is Open Circuited
Normal Operating Condition
Wiring Harness connections as per Circuit schematic between EMS ecu and
Starter feedback Circuit, Starter relay Fully operational.
Probable Trouble Area
Improper Wiring Harness Connections, Starter relay Stuck Open
Healing Condition
After 1 Drive cycles
Fault permanent deletion
1. Clear DTC Command form Scan tool
2. Stack Over Flow.
3. 40 warm up cycles.
4.ECU flashing
5. ECU Power-Fail
Component Details:
Starter Relay-2 is a normally Open relay. It is an electrically controlled switch. By energizing the coil of the relay, its
contacts get closed.
Preliminary Checks:
5) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Starter relay contact pin X and EMS ecu
6) Starter Relay Faulty / Stuck Open
7) Check for back out of pins at ECU connector.
8) Check for damage of pins at ECU connector.
