U0151-31 Loss of communication with Restrain Control Module- Message Timeout Failure

Customer Symptom
Vehicle will not function as per design intent
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Vehicle will not function as per design intent
Lamp Status (If Any)
None.
Fault Detection Condition
1. RCM connector is not connected properly or
disconnected from its location.
2. CAN Stub wire from RCM connector side is
disconnected.
3. RCM is not powered up.
Normal Operating Condition
RCM ECU communicates properly with TML diagnostic Tool.
Probable Trouble Area
Disconnection of the RCM connector
Healing Condition
To fix the RCM connector correctly and Fix the wiring harness
issues from RCM side.
Trouble shooting steps:

Check the connectivity between EMS
ECU pin CAN_H(132)to SRS ECU
CAL_H(1)
Rectify the wiring
harness
Go to next step
2
Check the connectivity between EMS
ECU pin CAN_L(144)to SRS ECU
CAL_L(2)
Rectify the wiring
harness
Go to next step
3
Check the resistance between pin 132
& pin 144 of the vehicle connector it
should be approximately 60 ohms
Go to next step
Check for terminal back out of the
wiring harness at ECU & instrument
cluster CAN wire
4
If fault still persists
Replace EMS ECU
Repeat above procedure for
reconfirmation
