P083F: Clutch Coherence Fault

Overview:

DTC Description as per ISO standard

Clutch Pedal Switch "A"/"B" Correlation

ECU Pin Number

17, 50

Customer Symptom

Drivability (During Taking Off on gradients & Gargling Noise of Turbo lag)

will get effected as Clutch Pedal top Travel input is not available to EMS

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Drivability (During Taking Off on gradients & Gargling Noise of Turbo lag)

will get effected as Clutch Pedal top Travel input is not available to EMS

Lamp Status (If Any)

-

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets logged when EMS receives the Clutch Bottom travel input

but not the Clutch Top Travel input.

Normal Operating Condition

Check the Clutch Top Travel switch state & Bottom Travel switch stats in

Diagnostic tool, which should vary as per the pedal press.

Probable Trouble Area

Clutch Sensor, ECU, Grounding points, Wiring harness.

Healing Condition

Ignition OFF to ON

Component Details:

Clutch Sensor (Hall Effect Sensor) provides two digital inputs to EMS regarding the Clutch Pedal Top travel (40 % Pedal

press) & Clutch pedal bottom travel (90% pedal press). Clutch pedal top travel input will be used for Vehicle drivability

improvement and Clutch pedal bottom travel input will be used for starter motor control, Current gear display and Gear

Shift Indication functions.

Preliminary Checks

Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned above. If

yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence.

Check whether similar complaints are earlier reported. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to

earlier issue closure.

x

Check whether the clutch pedal connector is connected or not. Refit the connector tightly.

x

Check the clutch sensor gap between the Sensor Magnet and pedal as per the Sensor mounting specification and

if deviations found then perform the necessary repairs.

x

Check whether the Clutch sensor is getting power supply at its Pin 1.

x

Read the Clutch State parameter in Diagnostic tool:

a) When pedal is not pressed

Clutch Engaged

b) When Pedal is partially pressed

Clutch Disengaged

c) When the pedal is fully pressed

Clutch Fully disengaged
