Trouble Shooting:
Step Checks
IF YES
IF NO
1 Check continuity between ECU and EGR modulator
connector as per circuit schematic. Any issue found?
Follow electrical
continuity check
procedure.
Replace/rectify
harness if required
Go to Next Step
2. Are there any pins damaged at EMS ECU Connector
Replace the
connector or wiring
harness
Go to Next Step
3
Are there any pins backed out from the EMS ECU
Connector
Rectify/Replace
Connectors
Go to Next Step
4
Check for EGR Actuator functionality and also check
whether the EMS ECU pin number 55 is short to ground or
open circuited
if problem identified
replace the AMF
sensor also rectify
the wiring harness.
Go to Next Step
5
Check also continuity between Intermediate connector (Y)
to EGR - EVRV modulator connector 1 (Y)
–
12 V supply
Rectify/Replace
modulator connector
Go to Next Step
6
Ensure battery voltage is more than 12V at engine idle
Rectify/replace
battery
Go to Next Step
7
Fault Still Persists?
If Fault still persists
then EGR
modulator/ EGR
valve. If fault still
persists then call hot
line.
Follow the steps
again for
reconfirmation
DTC’s confirmation (checks before handing over vehicle to customer):
x
Please fit the EGR & ECU connector.
x
Check the errors at Ignition ON, engine running @ Idle & Fly-up with different vehicle speeds also
x
If error present, then rectify the errors.
x
Confirm that there is no error logged in EMS before handing over vehicle to customer.
x
Run the actuator test for EGR valve and ensure result is positive.
