U3006 - 16: Control Module Input Power “A” – Circuit Voltage below Threshold
Overview:
This fault will come in engine running condition only
Input Power "A" is the Voltage Supply from battery
ISO Code
U3006 – 16
Customer Symptom
No warning lamp, Reduced assistance
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Reduced Assistance
Lamp Status (If Any)
Warning Lamp Off
Fault Detection Condition
If Battery(supply) voltage goes below 11.5V
If Alternator is not charging the battery and alternator voltage
is less than 13.5V or 0V.
Normal Operating Condition
PSCM should provide assist if steering wheel is steered after
engine is cranked. Normal operating range:
ECU will awake from 6V to 18V.
Full assistance is b/w 10V to 16V.
Reduced assistance is b/w 8.7V to 10V
Probable Trouble Area
Discharged Battery
Fuse blown (60 amp)
Battery cable terminal (corroded/Sulphation/Loose)
Alternator is undercharging
High resistance within the supply cable.
Loose PSCM power connector etc.
Healing Condition
NA
Component Details:
NA
Preliminary Checks:
1. Voltage at the battery terminals should be greater than 11.5V.
2. PSCM power supply connector should have greater than 11.5V for full assistance.
3. Check battery cable and PSCM connector terminals for damage.
4. Check PSCM ECU for pin bend/damage.
5. Alternator output voltage should be between 13.5 V to 14.5 V in engine running condition.
