U0101: Loss of communication with Transmission Control Module-
Bus Signal/ Message Failure

Customer Symptom
Vehicle may or may not crank
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Vehicle may or may not crank
Lamp Status (If Any)

Fault Detection Condition
1. TCM connector is not connected properly or
disconnected from its location.
2. CAN wire from TCM connector side is
disconnected.
3. TCM is not powered up.
4. CAN_H, CAN_L or/ and both lines of TCM are
opened.
Normal Operating Condition
ECM ECU communicates properly with TCM ECU
Probable Trouble Area
1. Disconnection of the TCM ECU connector
2. CAN_H and CAN_L lines at TCM connector end
Healing Condition
1. To fix the TCM connector correctly
2. Fix the wiring harness issues from TCM side.
3. CAN_H, CAN_L or/ and both lines of TCM are
connected properly to the TCM connector.
