P0217: Engine Coolant Temperature Over Temperature Condition

Overview:

Description as per ISO Standard

Engine Coolant Over Temperature condition

ECU Pin Number

NA

Customer Symptom

High Coolant Temperature Warning Lamp will be ON

Engine Restricted Performance

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Vehicle will operate with reduced power from Engine

Lamp Status (If Any)

High Coolant temperature warning lamp will be off

Fault Detection Condition

This DTC gets logged Engine coolant temperature is greater than 115

(Calibratable) degrees. It indicates Engine over heat condition.

Normal Operating Condition

Engine coolant Temperature < 112 degrees

Probable Trouble Area

Cooling Fans not working, Low Coolant / No Coolant, Oil Pump (lubricant)

damage, Leakage in Oil lines / coolant lines, wiring harness connections of

Cooling fans, coolant pump not working, No Oil, other Engine component

damage

Healing Condition

Clear the errors, Ignition OFF to ON, engine idle & fly-up condition
