C1305 - 02: Steering rotor position sensor - General signal failure

Customer Symptom
No PSCM functionality (Heavy steering)
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Active Return and SW end stop functionalities are not
available.
Lamp Status (If Any)
Warning Lamp ON
Fault Detection Condition
NA
Normal Operating Condition
PSCM should provide assist if steering wheel is steered after
engine is cranked. Normal operating range:
ECU will awake from 6V to 18V.
Full assistance is b/w 10V to 16V
Reduced assistance is b/w 8.7V to 10V
Probable Trouble Area
Internal signal (signal out of range) failure in rotor position
sensor.

Component Details:
Rotor Position Sensor - Rotor Position Sensor - The rotor position sensor is used for monitoring the angular position of the
rotor. It provides the input to the PSCM system and if no data is available, PSCM functionality will not be available.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check visually Rotor position sensor connector and wiring harness to PSCM ECU for any damage/open. In
case of damage replace the steering column.
2. Visually check ECU Rotor position sensor connector for damage. In case of damage replace the ECU.
