C130F - 31: Steering torque index signal – No signal

Vehicle pulling
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Assistance Available, but Active return is not available
Lamp Status (If Any)
Warning Lamp OFF
Fault Detection Condition
If Torque Sensor Index signal pin is not connected /opened,
then this DTC will be logged.
Normal Operating Condition
PSCM should provide assist if steering wheel is steered after
engine is cranked. Normal operating range:
ECU will awake from 6V to 18V.
Full assistance is b/w 10V to 16V
Reduced assistance is b/w 8.7V to 10V
Probable Trouble Area
Torque Sensor connector is disconnected
Torque Sensor index signal wire is open.

NA
Component Details:
Steering Torque Sensor – The torque sensor detects the twist of the torsion bar and converts the applied torque into an
electrical signal.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check torque sensor connector and wiring harness to PSCM ECU for disconnection/open.
2. Check ECU connector pins for bend/damage, if not ok then replace the ECU.
