Customer Symptom
No PSCM functionality (Heavy steering)
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
No assistance
Lamp Status (If Any)
Warning Lamp ON
Fault Detection Condition
Circuit current is above threshold 60 Amp
Normal Operating Condition
PSCM should provide assist if steering wheel is steered after
engine is cranked. Normal operating range:
ECU will be awake from 6V to 16 V.
Full assistance is b/w 10V to 16V
Reduced assistance is b/w 8.7V to 10V
Drive motor “A” phase current b/w 0 to 60 Amp
Probable Trouble Area
Motor current consumption above the max limit for a time
interval.
Healing Condition
NA
Component Details:
Motor-The PSCM uses a DC motor to generate and provide the torque to the column shaft.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check all the cables and connectors to ECU for any damage (Visually)
