Trouble Shooting:
Step Checks
IF YES
IF NO
1.
Is there any rust/oxidization observed on glow plug
Terminals
Clean the Rust or
repair or replace
Go to Step 2
2.
Is there wiring harness electrical continuity between ECU
pins 26, 57 & Glow plug connector pins 4, 7. Also Check
continuity between the Ignition Supply at GPIU pin 3.
Go to next step
Establish continuity
by rectifying
harness
connections as per
the circuit
schematic
3. Are there any pins damaged at Glow plug/EMS ECU
Connector
Replace the
connector or wiring
harness
Go to Next Step
4
Are there any pins backed out from the Glow plug/EMS
ECU Connector
Rectify/Replace
Connectors
Go to Next Step
5
Is GPIU getting GND at its pin 4 when EMS ECU turns ON
the glow plug
Repair the harness
as per the schematic Go to Next Step
6
Is EMS ECU signal Pin 26 or pin 57, open / SC to GND or
SC to Batt?.
Repair the harness
as per the schematic Go to Next Step
7
Is GPIU getting battery supply at its pin 1
Go to Next step
Repair the harness
as per the
schematic
8
Is GPIU physically Damaged
Replace Glow plug
Go to Next Step
9
Fault Still Persists?
Replace glow plug
and then Fault still
persists then Call
Hot Line
Follow the steps
again for
reconfirmation
DTC’s confirmation (checks before handing over vehicle to customer):
x
After rectification perform actuator test for Glow plugs and ensure the result is positive
x
Check whether at Ignition ON, Glow plugs are turning on momentarily (Glow Plug lamp will glow at Ignition ON)
x
Confirm that there are no errors logged by EMS before handing over the vehicle to customer.
