P0513-05: Incorrect Immobilizer Key – System Programming Failure

Vehicle will not start

Fault Detection Condition
Fault gets logged when wrong transponder key / Mechanical key is being
used to start the vehicle.
Normal Operating Condition
Transponder key paired to immo shall be used to crank the vehicle
Probable Trouble Area
Transponder key, improper or no key teaching
Healing Condition
After 1 drive cycle of fault rectification
Fault Permanent deletion
After 40 drive cycles of fult rectification
Stack over flow
Diagnostic command to clear DTC
Component Details:
Immobilizer system is designed to prevent vehicle theft by electronically disabling the engine starting system. The engine
can be started only with vehicle’s original immobilizer ignition key, which has an electronic identification programmed
code.
Immobilizer unit (VICM) is an add-on part on the ignition switch, fitted on the steering column. The engine can be started
only with the vehicle’s original immobilizer ignition key. The electronic key communicates the identification code to
immobilizer (VICM) when the key is turned to the "Ignition ON" position.
Immobilizer comes with two Electronic keys (E-key)
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check whether the transponder key used to crank the vehicle is wrong one or key is damaged.
